Partnership with Shue-Medill Middle School

All students enrolled in the Diversity in Secondary Education (EDUC 419) course are placed at Shue-Medill Middle School as their field component. Dr. Soslau partners with the teachers at Shue-Medill and works with them on issues related to understanding Critical Service Learning Pedagogy so that she can place more candidates with those teachers. The candidates can then see the pedagogy in action and in practice. Graduates students who are interested in doing their practicum at Shue-Medill work on Positive Identity activities and Social Justice lessons with the students.
