Liz entered the Alternative Routes to Certification (ARTC) project in DE, a non-traditional pathway to teaching certification for career changers, after a 10-year career in the marketing and graphic design field. She worked as a public middle and high school art teacher before earning her certification in Special Education and English and entering the education field in juvenile corrections and mental health, where she gained experience as an Educational Diagnostician and an Instructional Coach.
Since graduating ARTC, Liz earned a Masters in Instruction and is currently finishing her dissertation for her Doctorate in Educational Leadership, with a focus on identifying and using creative teaching techniques to boost engagement among at-risk student populations. She also completed the Delaware Academy for School Leadership’s Principal Preparation Program, earning her School Principal certification. Since 2018, she has served here at UD as the Assistant Coordinator of the ARTC program.
